Ongoing environmental changes and the continuity of stressors acting over ecosystems along the Domain 1: the need for the adoption of the D1MPA proposal

This paper provides a review of the literature of the most up-to-date available scientific information indicating the ongoing environmental changes that continue to stress habitats and ecosystems in CCAMLR Domain 1, reinforcing the importance of adopting the proposal for the establishment of a marine protected area in this region. The information provided in this work highlights the relevance of protecting the ecosystems of the Western Antarctic Peninsula through Domain 1 Marine Protected Area (D1MPA) under a scenario of environmental changes and increased human presence.
