Monitoring, control and surveillance procedures carried out by the State of Chile during the 2021/22 season

In compliance with the commitments undertaken within the framework of the Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources (CCAMLR), the State of Chile conducts Fishing Inspection Operations in the area of the Convention.The pandemic has not prevented naval officers aboard OPV-83 Marinero Fuentealba from continuing with enforcement tasks in the Convention area through visits and inspections of fishing vessels of various flags in Subarea 48.1. In May 2022, Chile was able to carry out inspections of 8 vessels in a span of 3 days, verifying the effective compliance of the Conservation Measures established within this international Agreement.
