    SCIC will have e-group discussions between 12 and 21 October. There will be no virtual meetings of this group. The Chair of SCIC will report to the Commission on the progress of e-group discussions.

    All registered delegates for CCAMLR-39 or SCIC will be able to join the SCIC e-groups.

      1     Opening of meeting

      The Chair of SCIC will welcome delegates from CCAMLR Members and Observers.

      2.1     Agenda

      This agenda was adopted by the Commission under Item 2 of its agenda.

      3     CCAMLR Compliance Evaluation Procedure (CCEP)
      3.1     Provisional Compliance Report

      SCIC will review the Summary CCAMLR Compliance Report in accordance with Conservation Measure (CM) 10-10, Annex 10-10/B and provide advice to the Commission in accordance with CM 10-10, paragraph 3(iii).

      4     Illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing in Convention Area
      4.1     Current level of IUU fishing

      SCIC will consider information from Contracting Parties, cooperating non-Contracting Parties (NCPs,) NCPs, the Secretariat and the Scientific Committee and its working groups on illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing activity and trends in the Convention Area for 2019/20.

      4.2     IUU Vessel Lists

      SCIC will review reports submitted by NCPs on measures taken to exercise effective control over their flagged vessels included on the NCP-IUU Vessel List in 2019.

      SCIC will consider the Provisional NCP-IUU Vessel List and the Provisional Contracting Party (CP)-IUU Vessel List for 2020 and any additional information provided in relation to vessels included in the Lists.

      Following consideration of any information and evidence provided by Contracting Parties or NCPs pertaining to vessels included on the NCP-IUU Vessel List adopted in 2019, SCIC will recommend to the Commission if any vessels should be removed from the list.

      SCIC shall, by consensus, adopt a Proposed NCP-IUU Vessel List and a Proposed CP-IUU Vessel List to be provided to the Commission for approval.

      5     Fishery notifications

      SCIC shall consider fishery notifications submitted by Members in 2020 for the 2020/21 season.

      6     Administration and other business

      SCIC shall consider nomination of officers (Chair and Vice-Chair) for 2021–2022 for Commission approval as well as any other relevant business.

      7     Report adoption

      SCIC will adopt a report that will be provided to the Commission.

      8     Close of the meeting.
